Currently approval is not possible by role only by user. In the dialogue which is reachable through the workflow (edit transition, snapshot 1), it looks like it is possible to assign a role for approval and not only a specific user. However, when testing the workflow, the user in the approval-role can only decline and not approve.
We believe that it would be helpful to have roles for approval.
Hi Caitlin,
thanks for your reply. While the functionality had not been available when I raised the idea, I can confirm it has been implemented now.
Unfortunately, there is still a bug that prevents effective usage of this functionality. I have flagged this in your system and it is pending with development (Bug : 1491162). When you have an approval assigned to your user or to your role, the approval does not show under 'my work'. This means you will never know when you have to approve something, which prevents an effective usage of the approval functionality.
@Guest - This should be working as expected now.
Looking at you screenshot and using Google translate I want to point out that your screenshot is of the transition button to classify a form as Irrelevant, so this "approval" is identifying who can Approve marking a form as irrelevant. To allow a Role to Also Approve a form you would need to set up the same Required Approval for the "Approve" transition button
If you are still not able to do this, please submit a Support Case with details about your specific issue.
Thank you,
Caitlin
