Most of the PW users are read only users and organizations wants to consider them passport users. Such user has to go to separate interface. Can we make PW explorer intelligent that based on log in user (Admin can decide type of that user as passport or visa) explorer can allow user to do basic required operations under passport? Rest of the functionality will be grayed out to passport users. For visa users full functionality will be available.
Other option we can make PW Explorer installable with 2 options (passport/visa) similar as Microsoft Visual Studio Professional/enterprise etc.
This will make sure all type of users will be on same interface. Currently all PW Explorer users consume visa and organizations tried to uninstall explorer to cut down cost. IF PW explorer serves both kind of users at list PW explorer will remain on every users machine and at list will get passport user. Also converting passport users to visa will be easier. It will be easy to convince user that if you need more functionality then go visa.
As per 'Announcement – Updated Product Naming Conventions' email on May6,2020 by David.Asbridge@bentley.com, many brands offer various “tiers” of their products. So can we make ProjectWise Explorer also in Standard and Advance? OR for passport users and visa users?
