Every time we move documents, PW Explorer starts a process of copying them out, then deleting them in the source folder, and reuploading them to the final destination. This process slows down moving multiple documents or moving big files, requires the client machine to be “online” executing the process, and moves elements “one by one” to recreate their relationships and attributes.
It would be much better if PWDI executed the command on the server side by locking the files first, then updating the dms tables in the database, and asynchronously moving the files between the server’s dms folders.
ProjectWise Explorer does not copy the documents out when they are being moved from one location to another in PW explorer.
