By capturing the o_docguid and o_version_seq values of the source document when a rendition is created it would be posable to create a link to the source document (current or matched version) record from the pdf record. If an interface element (button, link etc.) is added, providing the ability to navigate directly to the source of the pdf
We have a similar need.
Where, after we produce a rendition of a native document. We would like to RMB » SET » Show markups to retrieve the list of the renditions that were create from a specific native file.
This relationship could also be managed by leveraging and extending the "logical set" feature, adding a flag(s) to define the type of set and relationship.
Adding this feature would help close the loop in the review process. At present if a pdf rendition is used to review a drawing and the reviewer needs to accept or reject the cad drawing, they need to navigate to the native cad file to move it through the workflow.
With this relationship in place, it would enable the ability to integrate the workflow with the review and issues resolution process.
