Enhance access control

We have situation where inside the same folder we have master document and PDF

The issue we face, under a share state, participants are allow to markup pdf, for which we need to grant file edit access.

However in that sam folder we have docume in Share, that we not wanted them to be modify.

Under the access control, we need to have a way to to allow markup on pdf while not allowing other document to be modify.

Suggestion for the access matrix introduce a _

-----w--W-_M

The system will then understand that we can write on the attributes, Write Markup on the file

"----r---W-_M" User can only read the attributes of the file and Write Markup ( create the XFDF)

"----r--R--_M" User can only read the attributes, Read the Markup but cannot add markup

"----r--R--_-" can open the PDF in read only and cannot display PDF Markup

Another way would be to use M and m

  • A caps M, will authorize the creation of the Markup ( create the XFDF)

  • A small M, will allow to see the Markup

This would allow the Markup permission to be set independently of the file permission.

101% agree , this is much-needed to have separate access control option to allow markups only
