ProjectWise Renditons: Move the "View Active Jobs" button

To see which jobs are in the queue, a user has to right-click on a file, select "Create Renditions", and then "View Active Jobs". After submitting the request to create renditions, the dialog box automatically closes.

Disadvantages:

  1. A user may have initiated renditions and is just checking the status. The current process causes confusion when the Create Renditions dialog box closes, and now someone wants to simply check the status of jobs sent.

  2. Viewing the renditions job queue is buried under another operation (Create Renditions). It is not easy to find, remember, or explain to new users.

  3. Due to time constraints, a user may want to open the renditions queue as soon as they submit a request to monitor progress. Why doesn't the dialog box stay open?

Consider relocating this to a more prominent position in a drop-down menu or toolbar in the ProjectWise UI, or adding it as a subitem under "Create Renditions" in the right-click pop-up dialog box.

Advantage:

  1. Increased visibility

  2. Separate the 2 actions of creating renditions and checking their status
