Auto Close Transmittal after Due Date (Even if Review is not completed)

Why is it useful?

It will helpful to meet project time line and can't stop project progress.

Who would benefit from it?

All stakeholders (Business, Project Team, Reviewers, Contractor, Etc..)

How should it work?

Bentley can introduce new option while creating TRN and make this feature enable for selective transmittals.

Practical use of functionality?

In projects, there are several contracts agreed between company and contractors for document review strategy that if documents (Specific Categories/Types) are not reviewed within stipulated timeline, contactors can consider it as "Reviewed and Approved" and progress the work.

What is the impact of not doing this?
  • Project Delay

  • Extra Man hours

  • Manual Follow up of particular Transmittal

  • Unwanted mail notifications

  • Raise unknown challenges

If this is not implemented, It can be reason for delaying projects, due to business may face unknown challenges w.r.t project completion. . Reviewers need to invest time to close all TRNs. Unnecessary system notifications go to reviewers. One dedicated person needs to be assigned to keep on eye on status of particular transmittal.

    Hi Joshua,

Please refer "Practical use of functionality?" part to get answer.

also please note that this is standard agreement process with contractors which most of the organisations follow.

Hi Thanks for raising the feature request

I see you’d like transmittals to auto-close after their due date, even if reviews aren’t completed. Can you tell me what’s typically happening in your project around the time those due dates hit? What’s going wrong that made you wish for this feature?
