Ability to add a description to a photo in a form while taking it using the BIC Field App.
|
Practical use of functionality?
The practical use is to allow a users to a take picture and add a description of a picture all in one step. |
|
|
What is the impact of not doing this?
It takes users in the Field longer to add description to pictures. It make their job more complicated. |
To build on this idea, users have consistently asked for field photos to have location information visibly time‑stamped on the photo itself, not just stored as metadata.
In addition to live station/offset tracking, this would include:
Visible photo stamping with:
Latitude / Longitude
Alignment‑based Station & Offset
Date / time captured
This is especially important for CEI documentation, claims support, and office review—particularly when photos are exported or shared outside the platform.
Users have also requested lightweight markup capabilities on photos, similar to existing PDF markup tools, such as:
Arrows, callouts, and simple sketches
Notes tied directly to the captured location
Ability to export marked‑up photos with the location stamp intact
Combined with live location and station/offset, this creates a single, trusted field tool that replaces paper notes, screenshots, and manual annotations—and better reflects how inspectors work in the field today.
