Allowing the Internal Project Administrator to add & delete individual external users to the project. If "project manager" from the external organization leaves the project or their company, I should be able to delete just that user and not have to delete the entire group of people - and then invite back 1 or more users to start all over again.
If I could "find and replace" internal project team members- that would save me hours and hours of admin time every time there is project personnel change within my organization.
In general the "People Management" tools could be a lot better.
Practical use of functionality?
Better people management and security by removing individual external users that no longer need to have access to the project. |

What is the impact of not doing this?
So much time wasted on tasks that could be solved with better tools. |
I don't see why we can't at least turn on permissions for external users to receive transmittals. In PW Web it used to be a default setting for external users to be able to receive transmittals and correspondence. Now as soon as they accept the invite, they are turned off to VIEW ONLY and disappear from the address book. This is such a time wasting exercise and prevents us from being able to deliver. No other system adds a user to a Submission portal, and then turns off their ability to receive as a default setting.
The way the current system is built means that each organization owns their project context. We cannot allow one organization to manage another organization's project team members as it would be a security issue. There would be no way to prevent misuse of the function in a harmful way.
If a member of an organization has left the project, it is the responsibility of that organization administrator to remove this person from the project. If there are any issues with that, the external party can contact Bentley support for assistance.
