Using Item Types in MicroStation Connect, hyperlinks can be created to link the user to data located in ProjectWise.

Sometimes the hyperlinks are created using code which gathers information from several places to create the link. In this manner a hyperlink can be unique to a specific element.

Item Type information can be viewed using Bentely I-Twin including the hyperlinks. There are times when the person using I-Twin does not have access to ProjectWise software. When this software is not available, the ProjectWise hyperlinks will not work.

The ProjectWise Web viewer is the answer to this problem except that the links used by the web viewer are GUIDs which cannot be predetermined when creating the links.

If ProjectWise Web viewer uses a URL (e.g. ... folder/subfolder/tertiary folder) type system, then predetermining links will become possible.

These URL type links will help keep project information together within ProjectWise. Without the links, a separate SharePoint or OneDrive location would be required to meet this need.
