ProjectWise Web offers a user friendly, easy to use interface, however, one thing lacking is the ability to export a list of all documents captured in a project to Excel. The only way to generate a report currently is to do this via ProjectWise Explorer which is an antiquated approach and not all users have access to ProjectWise Explorer. Users should be able to generate reports on demand and not have to rely on a systems administrator to generate a report.
SharePoint offers this functionality to export documents captured in Office 365 to Excel (i.e. "EXPORT TO EXCEL" in SharePoint), and also offers the ability to "EDIT IN GRID VIEW". Currently the only way to get around this is by accessing ProjectWise Explorer which is cumbersome and an outdated approach. People want to access their information with web technology which allows access from anywhere in the world through an internet connection and not have to use a VPN to access information.
The sooner this functionality is made available the more the PW WEB will be sought after.
This is a very useful function/feature for document control. However, what would be even greater is if the 'Name' attribute (document number/filename) was automatically converted to a link when generating the .csv so that if you click on any of the content listed in the 'Name' column it would take the user directly to where the document/drawing is stored in ProjectWise Cloud. Similarly, the same feature would be useful to the 'Folder' attribute too instead of trying to search where the document/drawing is stored in the system.
This is now available with the "Export table data" function. It will export the current view (folder contents, search results, etc.) reflecting current columns and filtered items to a CSV file which may then be opened in Excel.
this is mostly required by document/project control team as they frequent need to see the status of document. Having a quick option to generate reports (in excel) based on multiple criteria would be great.
The another best way of implementation would be a dashboard to show the details of document status based on multiple criteria and export them out as per need. Right-now, everywhere is dashboard/PowerBI, having such addition ASAP would make a great CDE tool as per ISO-19650 workflows
