Currently Scan Reference can create relationships between imagery that has sister files (for example JPG/JGW) for geocoordination in the MS Platform. This is beneficial, however when using refscan to create these sets for use, this process is incredibly inefficient as the reference scan has to pull the dataset completely out to create the link. With higher res imagery even in JPG format, these can be incredibly large files that take substantial time to first upload, and then turn around and redownload to scan.
While support has suggested cheating by placing the files in the working directory prior to them getting copied out, this is not a workflow a standard user should be expected to grasp and perform successfully. Instead, we would ask that Ref Scan have either an alternate path for scanning images of this sort or somehow be able to be accomplished more directly without the need for fully copying the imagery files out. Our understanding of the sister file process is that the following prerequisites must be met, the files share the exact same file name and then reside in the same path. These sets should be able to be re-created based on just that logic alone without need to copy the files out in full.
