Granular Control of Deliverables Management Permissions

As this is the module used primarily by a Document Controller, there needs to be additional options for Team Members who cannot create transmittals but can only read (view) and respond to a transmittal once received.

Practical use of functionality?

As received from the user:


"I would like to request the following additional options to the role details below, i.e.:

  • Read & Respond to Packages (for all Team Members) (this would allow Team Members to view and respond (e.g. approve, comment, reject, void, cancel, etc. – as part of the portal workflow) to all packages (i.e. transmittals, correspondence, RFI’s)

  • Receive External Packages

  • Create & Issue Transmittal (only for Document Controller) /

  • Create & Issue Correspondence (for all Team Members)

  • Create & Issue RFI (for all Team Members)

  • Read & Create Draft Packages – I would delete this

  • Rename “Issue Packages” – I would delete this

  • “Manage Settings” – this should not be here

The “Manage Settings” should not be available here as shown above – this is a function for the administrator and not the rest of the team.

Then, the Deliverables Management Node in ProjectWise Explorer needs to tie-in accordingly with the above."
What is the impact of not doing this?

Unauthorized users are able to create draft packages which is causing a lot of noise for Document Controllers.
