We have been testing ProjectWise Drive as a solution for Managing 12D Model projects in ProjectWise. This application creates temporary files as part of how it writes to a file when saving. We have found that there is sometimes a clash due to the auto create feature of ProjectWise Drive. This leaves the temporary files in a locked (checked out) state.
these 12D temporary files have a ".new" and ".defer" extension and are deleted at the end of the save process. There are also other files and sub directories that do not need to be copied to the server.
If a directory has a ".ignore" file, then have ProjectWise Drive ignore files and sub directories that match the listed patterns for that folder and it's sub folders.
The ".ignore" file could be the same format as that used by source control applications such as git.
