Good morning everyone, hope you are all doing fine.
It is known that there's a tendency of companies to give document code to filenames and they generally dont show the descriptions or document titles in it because of the 255 characters limitation and also due to good practices of file management.
The ProjectWise drive, as it is now, can't have inside windows explorer or any other app a View configuration with the necessary columns to give the user the minimum informations about the codified filename. We have to agree that it is always very good to have the titles of the files shown right next to its code.
So I was thinking that it would be very good to have, at least the filled ProjectWise Description as a column to be shown inside the file explorer apps it is installed. (for example: windows explorer)
The best of the worlds would be having the option to create any attribute as a column inside these file explorers, but, as a first thing I wish we could, at least to show the files description that are filled inside projectwise.
That is just it. Thanks for your attention.
Happy new year to you all!
We would like to add: If the description column can be added in the PW Explorer, we would like to show and configure any PW-Explorer Column into the PW Drive view. Thereby, we would be able to filter documents based on the category columns (or any other attribute) that we introduced in the PW Environment.
